Former Head of Philosophy at the University of the West of England 1970 - 1995, examiner (external) in Philosophy for the European Baccalaureate, author of 'Living Philosophy', 'Religion without God', 'Understanding Eastern Philosophy' and other book, Ray is currently visiting Professor of Philosophy at the State University of California, and teaches at the Universities of Oxford, Cardiff and Bath. Well-known for his easy public speaking style, Ray runs several Philosophy groups and workshops. He has a particular interest in education and how it impacts on people's thinking.
